Welcome to the Official Website of the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia The Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), with our motto ‘Our Duty is to Serve You’ underlines the core services in livestock health, commodity development as well as support services. Services provided include the control, prevention and eradication of animal diseases, breeding, animal feed, farmers’socio-economic aspects, laboratory services and quality assurance for livestock based products as well as veterinary law enforcement. DVS also provides consultancy services to aspiring entrepreneurs as well as current livestock entrepreneurs. Concurrent with the latest development, DVS encourages the use of new technologies in livestock farming, especially environmental friendly production systems that conform to the international standards. Our officers are trained locally as well as overseas in the latest technology, to ensure quality services are provided to our clients. Further more, DVS, as a social obligation, is involved in poverty eradication programme through the micro credit programmes and the diversification of income through the production of livestock based products (food and non food products). As such, livestock programmes have the potential to enrich the rural economy. DVS as the custodian of the animal industry, views the animal welfare issues seriously and always willing to collaborate with various organisations to address animal abuse cases. In line with the transparency concept, our website portrays the services provided and our activities as well as the information on the livestock industry in Malaysia.
