5.0 Labeling
5.1 General requirements for labelling:-
5.1.1 labels are designed to meet Malaysia regulation
requirements.
5.1.2 all information printed on a label or on packaging is
correct, accurate and adequate.
5.1.3 any claims on product labels are accurate and evidence
is available to support the claims.
5.1.4 the correct label is applied to each product unit.
5.1.5 labels are stored in a manner that maintains them in
good condition.
5.1.6 damaged or obsolete labels are disposed of
appropriately.
5.1.7 Particulars in labelling must be clear, legible and use
terms that are commonly used in Bahasa Malaysia or
English language or other language which may include
translation.
5.1.8 Any false or misleading labelling on re-used or recycled
packaging resulting from previous uses must be
removed or defaced at the consigning establishments.
5.1.9 Each container of product should be permanently
marked to identify the producer and the lot or batch
which is essential in traceability and product recall and
also helps effective stock rotation.
5.2 Every package and container of meat and edible offal before
leaving a slaughterhouse shall have securely labeled or otherwise
marked thereon:-
5.2.1 a true and correct description of the contents;
5.2.2 the net weight or the volume where applicable; and
5.2.3 the inspection legend.
