Definitions

           12.  “Giblets” means the liver from which the bite sac has been removed, the
              heart from which the pericardial sac has been removed, and the gizzard from
              which the lining and contents have been removed.

           13.  “Inedible” means adulterated, uninspected or not intended for use as human
              food or unsuitable for human consumption.

           14.  “Inspector” means Veterinary Authority appointed by the Director General of
              Veterinary Services to inspect poultry processing plant.

           15.  “Inspection” means any inspection required by the rules to determine whether
              a poultry slaughtering plant comply with the requirements of this code and
              the rules.

           16.  “Offal” means any viscera or organs in a carcass that is ordinarily used or
              consumed as food for human.

           17.  “Potable” means a water quality that is consistent with standards for drinking
              water in the respective state or territory.

           18.  “Poultry” or “bird” includes domestic fowls, chicks, ducks, geese, turkeys,
              guinea fowls, quails and pigeons of any age or sex.

           19.  “Poultry waste” means the cadavers of condemned poultry, the inedible
              products derived from poultry and poultry meat which is contaminated or
              otherwise unfit for human consumption.

           20.  “Preparation area” means any part of a plant to which live poultry is delivered
              or in which poultry is held, killed or de-feathered.


           21.  “Processing area” means any part of a plant in which poultry meat is
              eviscerated, cleaned, cut up, boned, packaged, refrigerated or stored or
              from where poultry meat is distributed.

           22.  “Save-all” means any device that catches the waste products of a process
              for further use in manufacture.
